Textile Bodies

What new possibilities of expression arise for performers when their bodies merge with technology? My intermedial project »Textile Bodies« explores this through experimental, interdisciplinary performances. I hand knit costume parts which function as textile sensors through the incorporation of conductive yarns and materials. This allows these textiles to respond to electrical signals of movement and touch. Thus, performers are empowered to extend their range of expression to a visual and an auditory layer by being connected to synthesizers. As a result, new, non- verbal levels of communication become possible and form a multidimen- sional stage design. performed at Visiodrom in July of 2022
